Fall Fruits & Veggies for Natural Health

Fall Fruits & Veggies For Natural HealthNatural health isn’t just about using holistic health remedies like herbs and essential oils. It is often as simple as changing what you eat by switching to fruits and vegetables that have important health benefits. These fruits and veggies are ideal for natural health, and are typically in season during the fall.

Apples

One of the most popular fruits to use in the fall is the apple. Apples are readily available during the autumn season, plus they are often cheaper since they are in season. You can use apples for so many things, from apple pies for dessert to adding them to your salad. They also happen to be loaded with nutrients. They are an excellent source of antioxidants, contain a lot of fiber, and help combat things like diabetes and heart disease.

Pumpkin

Next up is pumpkin, which has become synonymous with fall over the years. Whether you want to make a homemade pumpkin latte or go for a classic like pumpkin pie, you can find something you love with pumpkin in it. What you might not realize is that this is a vegetable that is really good for you. People are often surprised to learn that pumpkin is wonderful for cardiovascular health and contains high amounts of vitamin C. It is also a good way to increase your potassium and fiber during this time of year.

Broccoli

Broccoli may not be your favorite vegetable of all time, but just wait until you see how good it is for you! This is a classic fall vegetable, and one that you should try to add to as many meals as you can. It is an excellent source of fiber, plus it also contains many vitamins and nutrients, including B6, B1, potassium, copper, and manganese. Broccoli has omega-3 fatty acids, iron, calcium, protein, and zinc. The list is practically endless when it comes to this green vegetable.

Cauliflower

Cauliflower is often the companion to broccoli, and can help break up the flavor of the broccoli if you combine them. This is in season during the fall, but many places have it year-round. It is good for everyone, but especially if you are on a low-carb diet. Cauliflower has fiber, vitamin C, magnesium, protein, vitamin K, vitamin B6, and many other nutrients that are good for you.

Pears

For more fall fruits, why not try some pears? These taste great on their own, in salads, and in dishes that also have apples. Pears are easy to come by in the fall, and have a good amount of nutrients. You will get extra antioxidants, dietary fiber, and loads of minerals if you eat a serving of pears each day. Plus, it is very low calorie at just 58 calories for a medium-size pear.
