Lower Your Blood Pressure Naturally with Herbs

heartHigh blood pressure can place you at an increased risk of heart disease and stroke. Most people who are diagnosed with high blood pressure turn immediately to pharmaceuticals but they can have serious side effects.

The good news is that there are many natural things you can use that don’t have such serious side effects and can be very effective. First off, it’s important to change your diet so that you’re not consuming much sodium, a chemical that causes blood pressure to increase.

But you can also look at using some of the herbal supplements that are known for regulating blood pressure. By adding them to your diet you may be able to control blood pressure naturally and avoid drugs.

For example, cinnamon has been shown to help lower blood pressure when consumed on a daily basis. You can always add a teaspoon to your food, but it’s also possible to take cinnamon in capsule form.

Garlic is another herb that has been shown to be very effective at lowering blood pressure and reducing your risk of heart disease. The best way to use it is to add at least a clove of garlic each day to your diet. But if you don’t like garlic or just can’t eat that much, you can also use garlic capsules.

Another herbal remedy that’s been used since ancient times is hawthorn. Hawthorn is actually useful for reducing blood pressure as well as reducing your risk of forming blood clots. It can be taken in pill form or you can make it into a tea.

Cardamom is a spice that’s commonly used in Indian and other Southeast Asian foods. The seeds have been shown to reduce blood pressure. You can find it in your spice aisle in powdered form and you can use it to add flavor to foods. You can also find it in capsule form.

Onions are commonly used in cooking, but they also contain antioxidants that help to reduce blood pressure. You can add onions to your menu to get the benefit or look for supplements if you don’t love the flavor.

Finally, oregano is an herb that has been used in the Mediterranean region for thousands of years and has been shown to lower blood pressure as well as heart rate – two of the most important factors when it comes to heart disease. Oregano is a tasty herb to add to your kitchen and can also be found in oil form for supplements.
