Natural DIY exfoliating is one of the best things you can do for your skin. You have dead skin cells that might sit on the surface of your skin because they are not being scrubbed off. They can also clog your pores, making it hard to minimize pores no matter how hard you try. Here are some natural exfoliating products you can make right at home.
Lemon and Honey Face Scrub
This first exfoliating recipe is one you can customize for your own needs, but the basic items are listed. This is an exfoliating scrub that uses sugar, so it is going to be gentle on your skin. If you need something with more exfoliating power, then you can replace the sugar with salt. For this scrub, start with regular white table sugar, then add some oil to it. You can use olive oil, jojoba oil, or coconut oil. When this is mixed, add in just a little bit of honey, aiming for the same amount as your oil. Then add in juice of one lemon. This should make a little over a cup of scrub. Use the scrub on your face, leave it for a few minutes, then rinse well.
Lavender and Vanilla Body Scrub
The next exfoliating recipe is a body scrub, helping to remove dead skin cells and leave behind the softest skin you have ever had. This is great for pampering with the sweet smell of vanilla and relaxing nature of the lavender. This scrub uses both sugar and Epsom salt, but you can switch it out with sea salt if you want something a bit coarser. Add in some lavender essential oils, a carrier oil like jojoba oil, then some vanilla extract for added scent. If you want this lavender body scrub to be purple, add in some food coloring as well.
Honey Brown Sugar Scrub
This exfoliator can be used on your face or your body, depending on where you need it. Instead of white sugar, try using some brown sugar. It is softer and a little less coarse. However, if you don’t have it, you can always use white sugar. You then want to add in some raw honey and essential oils. The oils are optional, but add a nice scent to the scrub. If it is hard to mix the sugar and honey, use a little olive oil in it as well.
